we bought a car in indiana and now are located in North Carolina because my husband is active in the army?


we bought a car in Indiana and now live in North Carolina because my husband is active in the military and our 30 tags are about to expire and we are wondering if we will have to pay the tax difference. Tax rate in Indiana is seven percent and here in North Carolina is eight percent.

MelonsO 		You can tag your car where ever you would like. We live in CA, my car is tagged in OK and my husband's is tagged in NY. We both have TX driver's licenses. Call the tag agency, county clerk, DMV, who ever it is that tags cars in Indiana and ask them how you go about obtaining an IN tag while being active duty out of state.

MariaT 		No, I don't think so. You may have to pay property taxes for North Carolina in order to get NC tags.
