How do I read the income statement? GM has cost of sales, but I want to know how it is broken up?


I am looking at their public income statement and I am trying to determine how much of their cost of sales is wages. How do I figure this out? Is there another chart I am missing?

ujonesla 		The Costs of Sales is usually broken down into specific line items in the company's full income statement. Try obtaining the company's full income statement if possible. The public income statement may not go into much detail.

mike11 		STOP THINKING OF GOING WITHIN 10 FEET OF GM. IT IS A BLACKHOLE FOR MONEY. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF OTHER COMPANIES THAT DO NOT BLOW MONEY AS QUICKLY AS GM WITH ITS UNION WORKERS MAKING $73/HOUR.

SERIOUSLY, JUST GIVE ME THE MONEY INSTEAD OF THINKING ABOUT OR EVEN WASTING TIME POSTING ABOUT GM ON THIS BOARD!
